V.LOCK

V.LOCK seismic cable restraint systems make suspending services faster, cleaner, and far more efficient. Designed for rapid installation, V.LOCK provides a secure, easy way to fasten cables used in the seismic restraint of building services, reducing labour time and improving on-site consistency.

V.LOCK is used in seismic cable restraint systems that carry tensiononly loads along the cable axis. These systems are installed in opposing pairs (180° apart) to restrain piping, ductwork, electrical cable trays, and suspended mechanical equipment in each primary direction. Cable restraints create a positive load path between the building structure and the supported service, ensuring positive restraint during a seismic event.

Bracing is required on both primary axes, with spacing determined by building code and the specifying engineer. Cable restraints are also essential for vibration-isolated systems, as rigid bracing (such as strut) will bypass the isolation and must be avoided.

V.LOCK systems are available in multiple cable diameters, lengths and configurations, making them adaptable to different suspension heights, service layouts and providing flexibility to match the building’s structural and seismic design requirements.
